Also on June 12, a special presentation: The Snow Queen by Nancy Faber
Based on the popular fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen, "The Snow Queen" is a story of friendship—and the triumph of good over evil. Seven short stories reveal the fantastic adventures of Kai, imprisoned by the evil Snow Queen, and his brave friend Gerda, who is determined to rescue him. This special presentation of "The Snow Queen" features original music by Nancy Faber. The story is brought to life by a talented ensemble of performers: Bonnie Kidd (Soprano), Nancy Faber (Narrator, flute), Randall Faber (Piano), Jon Ophoff (Piano). Please make plans to join us for an unforgettable journey of hope, courage, devotion and wonder. |

Ages and Stages of Motivation Randall Faber, clinician
Students of different ages bring different motivations to their music study. Randall Faber describes the dynamics of intrinsic motivation and offers practical applications for teaching:
- Why should we adjust our teaching style as a student gets older?
- What works best with young beginners?
- How can we keep "tweens" motivated and engaged in their lessons?
- When does appropriate repertoire selection affect student motivation?
